Day 1- Shit we're having fun :)

Hi Bloggers!

Ok so we made it to Farmington Maine and here is a little sneak peak at our journey today- quote of the day is "its the journey not the destination" just a nice way of saying we took the wrong road but don't worry we found our way.

We made the decision we should switch on and off driving every two hours so I took the morning shift. Here I am around 8:30 when we slammed and stuff the trunk about the adventure on the way. Morning highlights included- Mom and I negotiating on speed and a wicked stop at Murrays Big Stop for a bite of lunch.

Meet Gail she is our trusty Garmin GPS- we like Gail, she always repeats herself once then shuts up. After lunch we headed to Bangor thinking we could get a quick afternoon of shopping in. Luckily at the border we had an awesome boarder guard who thought we were nuts but not criminal taking a trip this long in "this car". Ruth is recovered from the crushing blow. Then no road trip is complete without a fun game. The game of our afternoon became spot the republican/ spot the democrates. Things that give away Republicans included: red trucks, guns, eagles, pro war bumper stickers, big vehicles, anyone from Texas.
Things that gave away Democrates included: foreign vehicles and camping equipment that did not included killing animals or 4 wheelers...
We made it to Bangor and we bra shopping at Macy's. Excitement level- low but we did find some wicked boob slings. Then Nan decided we must stop at the WalMart well this is where the story gets good. We pull up and immediatly I think this must be some type of Costo Walmart and I start to worry if we need a membership. Luckily it was just the biggest super Walmart ever which included 40 cash registers, dunkin donuts and lady in a motorized wheel chair with her dog on her lap. Made friends- absolutely :)

Dont even worry we got Nan to take this picture of us- Mom made comment about rattlesnakes in the lawn I almost peed my pants. Good times.

We deff did not starve today- between the cherries and fresca in the car we had an awesome supper in Farmington at the Granary. I ate a morrocean steak which was phenominal- dont worry I have a full meal left over. Mom had the taco salad which she has a full meal left as well. Nan has duck tails ( like chicken nuggets with duck which were suprisingly delicious) and beer battered onion rings superb. The rolls at the beggining were sick (as in fabulous) and we took them home with us as well. Lets just say we left the restaurant with enough doggy bags that it looked like we went to a Chinese restaurant.
That's it for today folks..... on the plans for tommorow are probably a walk in the morning (right now its 34 degrees so we will wait) then heading to Bennington Vermount for lunch (probably eating our leftovers from tonight) and Danbury Conneticut for our final destination. Wish us luck and pray for us and we will see you all tommorow xo
