Day 7- Oh food heaven

Hi Bloggers- Ok so yesterday (Sunday) we woke up and headed from Lexington on the road.... we made it through Louisville with no real trouble. After Louisville we were supposed to head on the back roads and after 10 miles of corn fields, twist and turns we decided to change the route and hit only the highways. So Mom successfully put us back on the I-80 and we headed towards St Louis. On the way we saw this awesome little stop and we had to stop. You could not imagine the excitement of us all even though we are 72, 52 and 24 years old.

We found this little restaurant and it was amazing. Although we got some funny looked when we waltz in at 10:30 little did we know that we had crossed time zones. So they were very gracious and allowed us to have a little breakfast before the lunch buffet came out. Boy did we eat!!!

The restaurant is attached to a lodge that is a hotel and is completely decorated for Christmas. It was so magical and charming.

We continued on our way and through St Louis realizing that the clouds were getting darker and thicker but we did not think much of it. We found a lovely Super 8 in Wentzville MO just outside of St Louis. When we checked in the lady behind the counter nicely said "Oh you got off the road before the storm" We politely asked about the storm and she informed us that there was a tornado watch. Just Great- so we ventured out the Walmart and the loudest thunder we had ever heard struck! After our Walmart trip we ventured to this amazing BBQ restaurant- see pics below.

I prefered the Spicy one where Mom enjoyed the KC style one best.

Nans supper- yummmmmmyyyy

So much meat yet so delicious- happy happy happy

Please notice how much BBQ left overs we had.... after supper we headed back to the hotel and watched Big Brother. Then we all fell asleep just after 8pm. We were pooped
