Day 9- Nebraska surprises

Good evening bloggers!
So I must tell you that we all awoke at a decent hour this morning from Salina and Mom and I went on a quick run. Then we hit the road driving through amazing scenic country with lots and lots of corn fields. We were all a little weary though and after 4 hours of driving we were wondering if we would ever make it. So we pulled off at an Applebees for lunch and of course the portions were so large it may have made us even more comatose. After a bottle of water and another 100 miles we stopped in Ogallala Nebraska. We did hit the mountain time zone right before the town so we actually checked into our hotel at 2pm. Ogallala is cowboy capital of the US so we were pretty pumped about our early arrival. Mom took advantage of the afternoon by getting an oil change and I hit the pool since it was 37 degrees. Then we went to supper at this cute steak house restaurant.

This is the reason Mom would make this her favorite restaurant if we lived here.

Then we heard that there was this amazing lake and beach here. We were skeptical since at 5:50 while driving outside of town this is what we saw....

Then we litterally turned the corner, 4 minutes later and you could swear we were in Nova Scotia..... So beautiful and the beaches are white sand and clear blue.

Tonight we are just relaxing and hitting the hay. See you all tommorow in Wyomming!
