Day 4- We visit the Waltons (not really but kind of)

Good evening bloggers!
We are a little weary today but its probably just heat and four days of travel because we really did have a lovely day.
We woke up this morning and Mom and I went on our walk. We even saw a hot air balloon. Then we had our breakfast and headed out to Gettysburg PA. During the drive I saw this amazing fruit stand and could not pass it up so we got some super fresh peaches and tiny plums.

Once we arrived in Gettysburg we hit the tourist bureau and found a civil war museum along with a quilt store that was a must stop. Mom bought a new throw that is fabulous and I picked up a tiny present. The museum was fairly good, a little creepy because the figures were so doll like. We got in for 3 bucks though so I say all in all money well spent. Below in the picture you can see some of the scary figurines.

After the museum we headed off to Chambersburg for lunch and settled on a Perkins. The pie that Nan had was glorious and overall it was a feast and wonderful.

After lunch we hit the interstate driving past the setting of the waltons and many historic civil war towns. We got to see the blue ridge mountains in the distance they even look blue but we think its because of the haze (still super hot here like 37). We were even treated to a McFlurry by Nan yahooooo. We arrived in Lexington Virginia around 4pm and settled into the Howard Johnston. The rooms are nice and comfortable and very clean. We decided to head to the local truck stop for dinner and had the salad bar and hot buffet. Mom and Nan enjoyed their meal and I thought it was decent. The real gem came in the picture below- such an addicting game. What you do is put you quarter in the slot above, it fall into the space where it says tropicana and drops into the first row of change. That row is then pushed by the big bar that makes quarters drop off the ledge into the second ledge of quarters below. Then the bar comes and pushes that ledge slightly and if you are lucky the quarters will fall. ADDICTION IN ACTION.... I could have stayed there all night long.

Tommorow we head to Charleston West Virginia..... looking foreward to seeing what fate will bring us.
Hope you are all well- Lots of Love xo
